Lisa Carnley Benoit. She grew up along the Gulf Coast and came here around the time that Hurricane Katrina took out most of Louisiana. As she has said, " I had spent the last years moving through three states and then, to Houston."
Settling here with her little po-boy and gumbo and all things Louisiana place on Jefferson, just a little south of downtown, she brings some excellent recipes to bear. It is a favorite place for me for po-boys. The gumbo is very rich which I suspect is from a home-made pork and beef broth. Are there some Vietnamese influences in the cuisine? Possibly.
